News on a key new appointment and the availability of archiving and email management solutions
- Axxia Systems has announced that it has appointed Pauline Freegard to the newly created position of New Business Sales Manager. Pauline, who joined the company in 2001 as a key account manager, will head up the business development effort across both private practice and the public sector. The move heralds significant investment in sales and marketing planned for the 2007-8 financial year, itself a reflection of the supplier’s growing confidence in its core markets following last year’s launch of its new business management system, DNA.
Pauline’s immediate task is to recruit additional sales resources to join the current team. “DNA is opening up so many new doors and we need to build a large dedicated sales task force to ensure we get through them successfully. I’m thoroughly looking forward to the challenge and working to position DNA as the system of choice for law firms and public sector organisations of all sizes.”
Commenting on the appointment, managing director Stuart Holden said: “Inevitably since DNA’s launch, we have seen a significant upswing in Requests for Information and calls to tender. Pauline will be responsible for ensuring we deliver the optimum response to these as well as proactively mining the increasing interest in process management tools and workflow technologies.”
- Archiving and email management are part of a solution to data management issues often referred to as ILM (Information Life Cycle Management) or UDM (Unified Data Management). Whatever the acronym you prefer to use - the ever increasing amount of data now held within computer systems is causing IT staff a wide range of problems.
Typical issues encountered are the ever increasing back-up window required to secure the burgeoning amount of data overnight and the management of the e-mail message store that is often a key factor in the increasing amount of system data.
Axxia is aware of these issues and is now partnering with network specialists PAV who have a demonstrable track record in this area working in conjunction with CommVault Systems. CommVault offers Archive Management capabilities for file system and email data. Active migration of NAS, e-mail and file system data reduces primary storage use, extending the life of storage systems and reducing the time required for data protection. The active archive of email data preserves it for compliance and discovery purposes.
